Art Classes for Young Adults

Fridays from 14h30 to 16h30
Cost: R60 per month (including materials)

These classes are run to assist young people of Pietermaritzburg who do not have access to art as a school subject. Participants do not have to have an art background, but an interest in art production and the creative process is highly recommended.

These young people are encouraged to take part in other educational programmes such as Artists’ Forum, Artists in Residence and Gallery facilitated workshops.

Inspiration for the classes comes from the Gallery’s permanent and temporary exhibitions. During the first term of this year, the students were inspired by the Building History exhibition to make three dimensional model buildings.
