MACS Quilt Challenge exhibtion closes

Members of the creative community have been invited to enter A4 size 'quilts' made from unusual materials along the same theme: Yesterday's News – Tomorrow's Promise. MACS has asked artists to ignore pretty fabrics and use anything from paper to metal. Traditionally quilts have 3 layers, but such decisions depend on the imagination of the makers.

Issues of Culture, Identity and Religion closes

This exhibition of artworks from the Gallery's permanent collection was chosen to challenge notions of prejudice and stereotyping in the viewer and to illustrate the artists' concern with them. The selection also aims at starting a discourse between the viewer and the artwork, expanding on issues presented.
