Threads: Celebrating Fibre Artist Jutta Faulds

Jutta Faulds - fibre artist, crafter, quilter, knitter, teacher, organiser, chemist, founding member of the Midlands Arts and Crafts Society, and friend to many, turned eighty at the end of last year. In celebration of her extraordinary contribution to the development of fibre art nationally and internationally, this exhibition comprises two parts.

The exhibition in the Main Gallery consists of art works made by just over sixty of Jutta's friends, acquaintances, fellow quilters and fibre artists, who were invited to create an art work celebrating Jutta's contribution as a fibre artist. Many of the participants were taught by Jutta, or influenced by her in some meaningful way. The art works range from installation pieces to conventional quilts.

An exhibition of Jutta's own work in the Schreiner Gallery showcases many aspects of her creativity and includes some of her seminal art works.
